Trump Makes Every Nation Choose America or Terrorist Iran

Iran

The choice is not complicated. It never was. You can do business with the United States of America, or you can keep the lights on for a terrorist regime that has spent forty-seven years chanting death to us. You cannot do both.

That is the point of what Victoria Coates laid out at Fox News after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent rolled out the so-called D-Day sanctions of Operation Economic Outcast. Critics treated the economic squeeze as proof that Operation Epic Fury had failed. They have it backwards. The bombs did their work. Now the ledger is finishing the job.

President Trump already proved the method works. Between 2019 and 2021, Maximum Pressure drove Iranian oil exports from 2.5 million barrels a day to under 400,000. Inflation hit 30 percent. Accessible foreign currency reserves collapsed from $122 billion to $12 billion. Countries that can add and subtract picked America. Of course they did.

Then Joe Biden arrived and treated enforcement like a suggestion. Washington started talking about a new nuclear deal by first taking the pressure off. Tehran pocketed the relief and built more of everything Washington claimed to fear. Oil exports climbed back toward 1.6 million barrels a day.

Reserves recovered to $26 billion. Unemployment hit a reported 7.2 percent. The money did not go into factories and families. It went into missiles, centrifuges, food subsidies to buy quiet, and the same regional proxies that butchered Israelis on October 7, 2023.

The Regime Is Already on the Ropes

Trump returned in 2025 and put the vise back on a country that never repaired the damage from the first campaign. Inflation ran to 50 percent before last year’s Twelve-Day War. The rial was already near 1.87 million to the dollar. One major bank had collapsed. Five more were in trouble. Protests had been beaten down, not answered. Then American and allied strikes wrecked energy infrastructure at Kharg Island, South Pars, and petrochemical plants.

The April blockade of Iranian exports through the Strait of Hormuz did what polite communiqués never will. Coates notes Iran is now losing an additional $13 billion a month and is cut off from critical imports. Tehran’s own estimate is a 10 percent contraction.

The rial has punched through 2 million to the dollar. Food prices inside Iran have more than doubled year over year by the regime’s own statistical office. Oil, the one product that kept the mullahs solvent, has been reduced to a trickle.

Even China, which spent years vacuuming discounted crude through the shadow fleet, has reason to flinch. Exposure is no longer free. Neighbors who once ran quiet errands for Tehran are looking at the same spreadsheet and reaching the same conclusion. The United Arab Emirates has already suspended trade and financial dealings with Iran. Others are being told they have a wind-down period. After that, no one is exempt.

“ANY country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to provide any type of lifeline to Iran will itself face TREMENDOUS Economic Consequences.”

That was Trump on Truth Social last week, calling the campaign an economic D-Day. Oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, front companies. All of it, he said, needs to stop now. You know who you are.

Economic Outcast Is Not Another Press Release

On Monday, Bessent made the threat operational. Treasury launched Operation Economic Outcast as a whole-of-government campaign to cut every remaining lifeline to the Islamic Republic and the IRGC. Nearly 60 individuals, entities, and vessels were designated in the opening round.

Five sectors that Iran uses to breathe through other countries are now under expanded secondary-sanctions risk: digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping.

The practical meaning is ugly for anyone still playing both sides. Iranian airlines lose the sky. Bank branches close. Anyone still clearing trades, flying planes, moving gold, or running ghost tankers for the regime is treated as complicit in its terrorism and can be cut out of the dollar system.

Bessent put it without the usual Foggy Bottom fog. America is no longer managing the Iranian threat. It is ending it. Those who stand with the United States reap the partnership. Those who tether themselves to Tehran share the isolation of a withering regime.

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

That is the moral geometry the foreign-policy priesthood spent a generation trying to blur. They wanted a gray zone where European banks, Gulf middlemen, and Chinese refiners could collect American-market profits on Tuesday and finance the IRGC on Thursday.

Trump is closing the gray zone. There will be a short window to unwind. Then the hammer falls, and the people who ignored the warning will have no one to blame but themselves.

A Wealthy Nation Chose Ruin

Iran should be rich. It has oil, gas, a young population, and a civilizational inheritance older than most of the countries now lecturing Washington about restraint. The ayatollahs chose the other path. They exported revolution, bankrolled Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and every militia that could bleed Americans and Jews. They chased a nuclear weapon while their own people stood in bread lines.

They called it resistance. It was theft dressed as theology.

Coates is right that the situation did not have to become this dire. Trump has offered Tehran the same deal more than once. Renounce the nuclear program. Stop projecting hostile power beyond its borders. Rejoin the world of actual commerce. If the regime refuses, the economy does not merely suffer. It ceases to function as a going concern. Airlines grounded. Banks shuttered. Customers gone. Currency worthless.

The professional class will call that cruel. They always do, right after they explain why the last round of “engagement” somehow produced more dead Jews, more American veterans with shrapnel in their legs, and more enriched uranium. Maximum pressure is not cruelty. It is the refusal to subsidize the people who want you dead.

Every capital now has an easy assignment. Count. Compare the American market to the Iranian one. Decide whether you want access to the dollar or a seat on a sinking ship run by men who chant for your destruction when they think the cameras are off. There is no third option, and there should not be.
