(The Epoch Times)—President Donald Trump is in “excellent health” according to the results of his annual physical examination.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted the results to the social platform X on April 13, which included a physical and medical exam from Dr. Sean P. Barbabella, physician to the president.
“President Trump remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function. His active lifestyle continues to contribute significantly to his well-being. President Trump’s days include participation in multiple meetings, public appearances, press availability, and frequent victories in golf events,” Barbabella wrote in his summary of the exam.
Trump underwent his first annual exam since beginning his second term, when he visited Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Washington on April 11.
“Overall, I felt I was in very good shape. Good heart, a good soul, a very good soul,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One later in the day.
Leavitt told reporters on Friday that the exam would include comprehensive testing and imaging.
“There’s quite a lot that goes into it to make sure the president is accomplishing all of his goals,” Leavitt said. “And we will provide a readout of that as soon as we can.”
The doctor’s notes indicate Trump now weighs 224 pounds, which is a 20-pound drop from his last presidential physical exam in 2020 when he weighed 244 pounds, Dr. Sean Conley said at the time.
The president also has normal visual acuity, hearing, thyroid, and lymph nodes. Examination of his head, ears, nose, and throat revealed no “significant abnormalities” besides the scarring on his right ear from a gunshot wound in July 2024, when a shooter attempted to assassinate Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Barbabella also noted that Trump’s lungs were clear, with scans showing no abnormalities. His cardiac exam showed a regular rate and rhythm, with normal heat functions.
Trump’s abdominal exam and ultrasound were also normal, and “his joints and muscles have a full range of motion, with normal blood flow and no swelling,” Barbabella wrote.
“A comprehensive neurological examination revealed no abnormalities in his mental status, cranial nerves, motor and sensory function, reflexes, gait, and balance,” he said, adding that the president scored a 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.
The president also scored “within the normal range” on tests screening for depression and anxiety symptoms.
“The skin examination revealed some minor sun damage and a few benign lesions. No concerning lesions or growths were identified,” Barbabella said.
Trump also scored within the healthy range for total cholesterol, and his urinalysis was normal.
The exam noted that the president’s medical history includes “well-controlled hypercholesterolemia, seasonal allergies, a history of COVID-19 infection, well-managed rosacea, actinic keratosis, benign nevi, diverticulosis, and a benign colon polyp.”
Trump, who has maintained a lifelong abstinence from tobacco and alcohol, was noted as taking rosuvastatin and ezetimibe for cholesterol control, aspirin for cardiac prevention, and mometasone cream as needed for a skin condition.
Barbabella also noted that the president is current on all recommended vaccinations, including “travel-related immunizations.”
“President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” he wrote.
