Therefore, we should not lower the standards. “I believe we should treat people according to their skills and their integrity, and that’s it.”

Elon Musk’s Take on Standards: Why They Matter for Life-Saving Professions

Should society ever lower the standards for critical professions? Elon Musk argues no, and he provides a compelling reason: lives are at stake. In areas like surgery or oncology, a single mistake can be fatal. Musk’s stance boils down to a simple but powerful idea—standards protect lives.

The Danger of Lowering Standards

Think about fields like medicine, where precision and judgment can mean the difference between life and death. Musk suggests that lowering the bar in such critical professions could result in more errors. And more errors mean more preventable deaths.

This might seem like a straightforward argument, but it’s worth considering the consequences in real-life scenarios. Would you trust a surgeon or an oncologist who barely scraped through their certifications? Probably not. Musk’s point is clear: maintaining high standards is not just a matter of competence—it’s about preserving lives.

Skills and Integrity Matter Most

According to Musk, the focus should be on skills and integrity when assessing someone’s capability. What actually makes a good surgeon or specialist? It’s their ability to perform under pressure, diagnose accurately, and stay committed to their work.

By sticking to these core qualities, we ensure that the best people—regardless of background—are the ones entrusted with critical roles. Musk argues that injecting unrelated criteria into these fields could dilute the pool of qualified professionals, ultimately putting patients at risk.

What Does This Mean for Broader Policies?

Musk’s comments touch on broader conversations about hiring practices and standards in various industries. Whether it’s healthcare, engineering, or any field where errors can have severe consequences, the priority should always be competence.

Compromising on standards in the name of inclusivity or diversity may sound noble, but it could come at a high cost. Musk emphasizes that fairness should be about treating people based on their abilities, not lowering the expectations for everyone.

The Bigger Picture

Elon Musk’s perspective raises an important question: what are we willing to risk to adjust the rules? While inclusivity is essential, it shouldn’t come at the expense of public safety. The stakes in fields like medicine demand an unwavering commitment to excellence.

When it comes to life-and-death roles, skills and integrity should always take center stage. High standards aren’t outdated—they’re safeguards for our future.

Conclusion

At its core, Musk’s argument is about balance. Inclusivity should be encouraged but not at the expense of quality or safety. For professions where mistakes can cost lives, standards exist for a reason. Treating people fairly doesn’t mean lowering the bar—it means valuing excellence and keeping trust intact.

DEI Backlash: Neo-Racist Policies Are Fueling a Legal and Cultural Revolt Against Corporate Social Engineering https://economiccollapse.report/dei-backlash-neo-racist-policies-are-fueling-a-legal-and-cultural-revolt-against-corporate-social-engineering/ https://economiccollapse.report/dei-backlash-neo-racist-policies-are-fueling-a-legal-and-cultural-revolt-against-corporate-social-engineering/#respond Tue, 07 Jan 2025 03:10:52 +0000 https://economiccollapse.report/dei-backlash-neo-racist-policies-are-fueling-a-legal-and-cultural-revolt-against-corporate-social-engineering/
  • Judicial rebuke of Nasdaq’s diversity rules: The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals vacated the SEC’s approval of NASDAQ’s race and gender-based board quotas, calling them an overreach of statutory authority.
  • A growing backlash against DEI: Americans are increasingly rejecting policies that discriminate against white individuals under the guise of “antiracism” and “equity.”
  • Corporate accountability: Companies like Goldman Sachs and asset managers like BlackRock continue to enforce neo-racist policies, but public and legal pushback is mounting.
  • The future of equality: True progress lies in addressing socio-economic disparities, not in dividing people by race.
  • The Judicial strike against neo-racism

(Natural News)—In a landmark decision that sent shockwaves through corporate America, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit delivered a resounding rebuke to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Nasdaq over their controversial “Board Diversity Rules.” The court ruled that the SEC had overstepped its statutory authority by approving Nasdaq’s mandate, which required companies to meet race, gender, and sexual orientation quotas or face de-listing.

The case, National Center for Public Policy Research v. SEC, centered on the argument that the SEC’s approval of these rules had no connection to the purposes of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934. Judge Andrew S. Oldham, writing for the court, emphasized that the SEC had ventured far beyond its mandate, intruding into the realm of social engineering. The court found no empirical evidence linking board diversity to improved corporate governance, a key justification often cited by DEI advocates.

This ruling is not an isolated incident but part of a growing backlash against policies that discriminate against white individuals under the banner of “antiracism” and “equity.” Americans are increasingly rejecting the Orwellian notion that discrimination can be used to combat discrimination. The court’s decision reflects a broader cultural shift: people are tired of divisive identity politics and are demanding accountability from corporations and government agencies alike.

    The corporate double standard

While the Fifth Circuit’s decision marks a significant victory for those opposing neo-racist policies, the battle is far from over. Major corporations and financial institutions continue to enforce race and gender-based quotas, often under the guise of promoting “diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Take Goldman Sachs, for example. The investment giant has made headlines for its policy of denying IPO services to companies that fail to meet its diversity requirements. In 2021, Goldman upped the ante, mandating that companies have at least two “diverse” board members, including one woman, to qualify for its services. This policy effectively excludes companies with all-white, all-male boards, regardless of their qualifications or merit.

Similarly, the so-called “Big 5” asset managers—BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street, ISS, and Glass Lewis—continue to pressure corporations to allocate resources based on race and gender. These firms wield immense influence over corporate governance, often using their power to advance a neo-racist agenda.

But the tide is turning. As public awareness grows, so does the backlash. Consumers, employees, and shareholders are increasingly holding corporations accountable for their discriminatory practices. Boycotts, lawsuits, and public shaming campaigns are becoming powerful tools in the fight against neo-racism.

True equality cannot be achieved by pitting one group against another or by sorting people into racial buckets. Instead, progress must be rooted in principles that unite rather than divide. Addressing inequality does not require neo-racism. By focusing on socio-economic status, geographic diversity, and viewpoint diversity, corporations can create opportunities for all without resorting to discriminatory practices. The goal should be to foster environments where individuals are judged by their character, skills, and contributions—not by the color of their skin or their gender.

The Fifth Circuit’s decision is a wake-up call for corporations and policymakers alike. It’s time to abandon the divisive rhetoric of DEI and embrace a vision of equality that uplifts everyone. The American people have spoken: they will not tolerate discrimination, no matter how noble the intentions behind it may seem.

Woke Groups Are Panicking as Corporations Continue to Abandon Moronic DEI Policies and Programs https://economiccollapse.report/woke-groups-are-panicking-as-corporations-continue-to-abandon-moronic-die-policies-and-programs-%f0%9f%94%94-the-liberty-daily/ https://economiccollapse.report/woke-groups-are-panicking-as-corporations-continue-to-abandon-moronic-die-policies-and-programs-%f0%9f%94%94-the-liberty-daily/#respond Sat, 21 Sep 2024 08:12:21 +0000 https://economiccollapse.report/woke-groups-are-panicking-as-corporations-continue-to-abandon-moronic-die-policies-and-programs-%f0%9f%94%94-the-liberty-daily/ (ZeroHedge)—The invasion of woke ideology and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies into every facet of American life seemed to happen out of the blue starting in 2015-2016, but in reality the agenda had been quietly and insidiously slithering into western institutions for decades prior.

Establishment controlled NGOs like the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and George Soros’ Open Society Foundation had been pumping billions of dollars into US universities since at least the 1960s, launching social justice programs and placing propagandists into teaching positions with the intent of “manufacturing consent” as Noam Chomsky once dubbed it.

The effort was to control the thinking of a top percentage of American professionals, turn them into rabid adherents of Cultural Marxism and globalism and then send them out into the world to create a progressive trickle-down effect in every major corporate and political institution. In other words, the establishment believed that if they could dominate the professional class with their suits and lab coats and specialized degrees the rest of the public would blindly follow along due to “expert bias.”.

As it turns out, they were wrong.

It took almost ten years to root out this tiny contingent of cult manipulators, but today the woke movement is well and thoroughly exposed. Woke organizations and DEI departments are now in fast decline and even the activists are beginning to admit they’re losing the battle for the minds of the masses. Let’s not forget, only a few years ago the political left denied the DEI agenda even existed and called anyone talking about it a “conspiracy theorist.”

Big Tech companies like Meta and Google made cuts to DEI staffers and resource officers in 2023. Dozens of major corporations are completely dropping their DEI initiatives in 2024. The Hollywood Reporter recently published an article lamenting the fall of DEI in Hollywood, spotlighting a list of DEI producers in an effort to assert that leftist activists still have power in Tinsel Town despite their failing ideology. Gay activist group GLAAD has complained that “LGBT representation” has started to decline in popular entertainment, with only 27% of films and television promoting gay and trans characters (given these people make up less than 3% of the global population, this level of representation is still far too high).

The reason for this precipitous collapse of DEI programs is three-fold:

First, after central banks hiked interest rates and ended QE programs the floodgates of ESG money closed and dried up. Venture capital disappeared and woke companies then had to rely on pure profits to stay afloat.

Second, the mass boycotting of woke companies proved beyond a doubt that there is no market for products that cater to DEI. For many years we have been told that woke is the majority, and anti-woke is a fringe minority. The truth is the exact opposite.

Third, lawsuits over DEI hiring programs are forcing companies to admit there is an element of ant-white and anti-straight prejudice involved in their employment practices. They are beginning to fear the backlash in civil courts, not to mention, hiring poorly qualified employees simply to check diversity boxes is a recipe for financial disaster.

There’s a good reason why the corporate media loses their minds every time there’s a successful boycott of a product like Bud Light or a progressive series like Star Wars: The Acolyte – Each time this happens the event stands as proof that the political left is a paper tiger, a tiny minority with no power or influence beyond their ties to corporations and governments. They are an astroturf movement created by psychopathic billionaires and politicians.

Consumers and the free market have spoken – They don’t like DEI and will not buy DEI products. But leftists insist the public is being “misled” by the right wing. The only way they can keep the farce going is to continue to maintain DEI programs across the board despite public refusal to participate. If corporate programs start to shut down then the entire facade is shattered. DEI finally dies.

This is probably the motivation behind a recent push by the NAACP, the National Organization for Woman and other “civil rights” activist organizations to pressure companies to keep DEI departments in place. At least 19 of these groups penned and published an open letter to corporate leaders of Fortune 1000 companies demanding that they stop cutting woke programs.

The groups claim that “companies that abandon their DEI programs are shirking their fiduciary responsibility to employees, consumers and shareholders.”

    Their statement reads:

“Diversity, equity and inclusion programs, policies, and practices make business-sense and they’re broadly popular among the public, consumers, and employees…But a small, well-funded, and extreme group of right-wing activists is attempting to pressure companies into abandoning their DEI programs…”

Leftists always gaslight by accusing their political opponents of engaging in the same kind of sabotage they engage in all the time. In fact, these businesses only have a duty to their shareholders, and their shareholders are tired of losing money. The “corporate citizen” narrative is not going to fly anymore in 2024.

If there was a market for DEI then it wouldn’t matter if conservatives were boycotting these companies. If woke activists were anything other than an insignificant portion of the population then they would be buying up woke products like crazy and proving conservatives wrong. But, they don’t because they can’t.

In their letter, the civil rights organizations, which also included UnidosUS, the Urban League, Advocates for Trans Equality, the National Women’s Law Center and the American Association of People with Disabilities, said divesting from DEI would alienate a wide range of consumers. Again, the opposite is true. DEI propaganda and hiring practices have greatly degraded company performance, product quality and they have politicized consumer markets in a way that has greatly angered Americans. Get woke, go broke.

It would be brand suicide to continue on this path, which is why so many companies are finally backing away. However, is it too late? Did corporations flirt with leftist ideology for too long and lose their customers forever? Only time will tell.
