President Donald Trump took questions from the press about what’s happening with Ukraine-Russia peace negotiations. Specifically, he was asked if he believed the Russians were being disrespectful. Then, he was asked if Russian President Vladimir Putin actually wants to end the war.
“I can’t tell you that, but I’ll let you know in about two weeks,” he said.
Negotiations appeared to be heading in the right direction for a brief period last week. Then, attacks ramped up from both sides. The escalation despite the Trump Administration’s efforts to end the war prompted President Trump to criticize Putin.
“At this point we’re working on President Putin, and we’ll see where we are,” he said.
