As Republicans on Capitol Hill attempt to pass the Big Beautiful Bill for President Donald Trump, Elon Musk continues to express concerns. He went so far as to threaten to form a new political party, a threat he has made in the past.
President Trump has been uncharacteristically muted regarding Musk, even after his former DOGE appointee insinuated that he would drop evidence regarding Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. But with the future of his agenda on the line, President Trump took to Truth Social to deliver his harshest rebuke of Musk so far:
Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!
Trump- and Musk-supporters, who used to be mostly one-in-the-same, ramped up their jabs at each other on social media Monday night.
However this feud turns out, it appears unlikely that there would be any future involvement by Musk with the administration. It’s a shame because they really were a good team.
